This photoshoot was about creating something different and intriguing, but it stemmed from wanting to face a fear of water. So we went up to Lake Tahoe and worked with some of our favorite models who live there and also happen to love the water.
The first set of images were taken in an indoor pool, using the Mark3 and an off camera flash. Post production included darkening the background and getting rid of the blue tint inside the pool reflected on the subjects.
The outdoor photos were done on a private beach on Lake Tahoe East Shore, as much as we would love to say the main mermaid image was done in one shot, it was done three. All shot in the same area to keep the lighting consistent and the color tones to harmonize better. Everything was shot with the Canon 5D Mark 3 with Canon 24-70 L Series lens and underwater casing by AquaTech.
