19 Oct Our Video Production Process

What to expect as you start your video project

We’ve been producing videos of all kinds for over a decade and we still find that no two videos are alike. Just as each client is unique, the videos we make are unique as well- that’s what we love about producing them! That being said, we’ve heard from a lot of our clients that the thought of creating video content is both very appealing and very daunting. Many of our clients know the draw and benefits of having great videos, but don’t know where to start. That’s where we come in! It’s our job to make your vision into reality – and if you don’t have a vision yet, we’ll help with that too! To make the idea of producing video content a little less daunting, we’ll share a little bit about our process for making it happen.

Intake Session – Defining the goals

The first and most important part of this process is to define the purpose and goal of the video. It should mean something to the audience as well as the brand or business and if everything goes right, it should be inspiring and thought-provoking enough for them to remember it! This is true for ALL VIDEOS! We will always start our process with an intake session where we work with you to make sure the goals and objectives of the video are completely defined and we can guide you in the right direction if you are unsure. We’ll refine your brand message, pinpoint your target audiences, deliverables and how the success of the video will be measured i.e. by views, increase in sales, increase in company moral, etc. By the end of this step we should have a full concept developed of what the final product will look and feel like as well as what it needs to accomplish and how we will produce it for you!

Pre-production – Setting up for a successful production

The next step is for us to begin pre production to figure out the logistics and create a plan for executing the project. Depending on the scope of your project, we will work with you to start selecting locations for shots, building a shot list, scripting any messaging or interview questions, storyboarding and scheduling talent and crew. We’ll work with you here to ensure the project’s concept and scope remains on track and on budget. We’ll send over storyboards so you can start to visualize the direction of the video and how it’s taking shape. We love this step because it’s where our clients start to see how their project is evolving.

Production – Making the vision a reality

Now, the real fun-shooting and editing-can begin. This is where you get to stand back and let us make your idea come to life. All the planning and work we did in pre-production is utilized to ensure we capture the shots the best way possible (and on schedule). Depending on your project, we will direct any on-screen talent so they’re at ease during the shoot and bring all the gear necessary to create beautiful imagery that will enhance your message. We have a full team including directors, producers, cinematographers and audio technicians to get all of the content needed to produce the finished video.

Post-Production – Bringing it all together

After the shoot, comes post production where we begin editing the content together. We also create any additional content that’s needed like graphics, lower thirds, animations, etc. We’ll put everything together to build your video and tell the story you set out to tell. From sound design to color correcting and color toning, we’ll take the time to make sure it looks and sounds great.

Finally the launch! We’ll hand over the completed video for you to premiere to the world. We have an in-house marketing team that can help with your strategy to make the biggest impact with viewers. In the end, our goal is to always produce a video that is true to your brand, accurately conveys your message and most importantly speaks to your audience!
