31 Jul Dana & John’s Steampunk Wedding in Old Sacramento
Dana & John had one of the more uniquely styled weddings from last year, and we really love how their images turned out. Our friend Fearon from Fearon May Events helped this couple plan their special day, and we think she did an amazing job. From the steampunk theme, to the hot chocolate station, this was a very enjoyable wedding.
We started the day off in The Citizen Hotel, where we caught glimpses of some of the incredible details incorporated to Dana & Johns outfits. Rather than the typical flowery bouquet, Dana went for a black lace and jewel crusted one that fit the theme perfectly. After some photos of the couple getting ready, we ventured outside to the Sacramento City Historic Cemetery, where we took some portraits of the couple before it started raining.
Then it was time for the ceremony! They chose The California State Railroad Museum, which at first thought would seem hard to pull off, but wow they did just that. The whole aesthetic of the venue matched the couples perfectly, and thanks to some very talented family members they had some incredible decorations including a replica R2D2 statue made from wood, brass and copper. Because it’s such a big place everyone was able to wander aimlessly throughout and admire the exhibits. After their short and sweet ceremony, we moved onto the reception where the highlight was definitely the deserts and some touching and hilarious toasts from friends and family.
All in all, it was a really great wedding full of even better people and we wish Dana & John the best!
